Ready to Take Christmas Pictures of the Kids

One of the things that most parents do during the Christmas season is take pictures. In some respects they seem crazed, and take pictures of just about everything, but now that I am a parent, I can understand – I don’t want to miss anything.
We have put the responsibility of taking good pictures in the hands of our old Nikon camera for the past five years, and this year will be no different. I am almost embarrassed to admit it, but it is so old that it can’t even handle using a high speed compact flash card.
Even though it is old, it still takes wonderful pictures so I see no need to replace it. Sure, I would love a new camera, but it is hard to consider getting rid of it when there is nothing wrong with it.
Maybe my wife will get the hint that I would like a new one for Christmas, but I bet instead of a new camera, I’ll get some socks. So, I will not get my hopes up, but rather have faith that our camera will be up for the job for yet another year.
I couldn’t imagine not having pictures of the kids at Christmas – that is the reason that we celebrate it in the first place.
