I’m Watching Cartoons?

I don’t usually have kids around in my house. I’m the bachelor type, and really love living by myself. But I do have a kid. And she’s a really great 10 year old. And while I’m not the custodial parent, I do have her every now and then. I live pretty far away from her mom, so it’s not every other weekend. Instead it is during things like spring break and summer break.
And now it is the middle of summer break so she is here. And that means the things that are on TV in my house are not what they would normally be. Instead of CNN I find myself watching things like Kung Fu Panda. Yea, that’s right, a cartoon about a panda bear doing karate kicks and using martial weapons!
But I will have to say that despite the ridicules premise that these Disney (or Pixar, whatever) movies have, they are at least wholesome. They all will always have some sort of lesson in them. The characters always end up doing the right thing. They exemplify morals and good over evil. And they all have several levels of humor too. I find myself laughing too but at other things than she is laughing at. Now I’m not going to watch these things when she’s not around, but when she is they are quite tolerable.
