Don’t get confused over boat parts

Have you ever gone into one of those car dealerships that had pretty much every make and model of car made all under one roof? If you have, you know how overwhelming it can sometimes be. The dealer thinks they are providing you with the convenience of one stop shopping. Unfortunately, it can be so overwhelming that you just want to leave in order to start thinking straight.
The very same phenomenon occurs when it comes to buying accessories for your boat. There are traditional shops that might have an entire collection of Mercruiser parts covering one half of the store.
The middle of the store might be completely dedicated to another parts manufacturer. This leaves the other side of the store. It would not be unusual to find it completely dedicated to Evinrude parts.
The major difference between the car dealership and the boat parts store however, is that you pretty much know which section of the store you are going to need. When you buy a new or used boat, it usually is powered by one of these engine manufacturers. From that point forward, you basically stick with the parts and after market accessories that are compatible with your motor.
And from a confusion clearing perspective, this is always a good thing.
