Dating on Vacation

I have one friend who believes that the best dates are the ones that happen on vacation. She loves having summer flings and ski lodge romances. I admit that she looks like she’s having a lot of fun but it still doesn’t seem like the right thing for me.
She definitely does meet some interesting people. Every time we get together for coffee she’s got another great guy to tell me about. There was the Tampa criminal attorney and the Phoenix zoo keeper and the New York stockbroker and the performing artist who didn’t seem to really have a home.
She also does get to go on some really interesting dates. She sees a lot of tourist attractions. She did the romantic carriage ride through New York’s central park and took a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. That’s definitely more romantic than most of my dates here at home!
Still, I think I like the idea of having someone around for more than just a week at a time. Maybe she’s just more independent than I am. Or maybe we appreciate different things in a relationship. I think I’ll stick to hearing her tales and living vicariously through them though.
