A Well-Lit Christmas

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was a lot of fun. What I want to share with you though is something funny that happened this year. Everyone in my family received a present that had something to do with lighting. That’s odd isn’t it?
Our light-based Christmas presents were as follows:
- I received energy-efficient light bulbs for the house. My mom gave these to me because she knows that I’ve been thinking about getting them for myself for awhile.
- The kids got a really cool science experiment kit. It’s based on engineering stuff and even teaches them how to build a small metal halide ballast!
- My husband received a book about different modern lighting options. It’s mostly about low pressure and high pressure sodium light bulbs but it includes a bunch of other lighting information as well. A co-worker gave him this odd gift.
- We all got candles as stocking stuffers. That’s a form of light too!
It’s so strange that we all got these wacky light-based presents this year. Of course we got lots of other stuff as well but what a weird coincidence don’t you think? I’d love to find out what you got for Christmas this year. Did anyone else get lighting gifts?
