When my cat was a kitten, she always liked and tried to scratch my furniture. One of the ways that I was able to stop this was by getting some different kinds of cat furniture that ha
d a surface that was able to be scratched without ruining our furniture.
These two items for this were a scratching post and a cat tree. The scratching post was the main thing that was going to save my furniture in those early days. The scratching post is specifically made for cats to scratch. It is usually made of a tough fabric, like a tightly woven carpet so that the cat can scratch to its hearts content. The best part of it is that it is a specific spot for the animal to go to and scratch. The second piece of furniture that was necessary was a cat tree. This is a piece of cat furniture that has different branches for the cat to climb on. It can climb by digging its claws into the tough fabric and working its way up. These items are made for a cat so they are tough and will work for most felines out there.
