Merry Christmas

This year, for Christmas, there was no gift under the tree for me from my husband. I tried not to be disappointed, but deep down, I was. He waited until after Christmas dinner when the kids were in bed and then he handed me a pamphlet with a list of hot tub prices on it.
He told me that he wanted to get me a hot tub spa for Christmas, but that he wanted me to choose one for myself. He said that I was to get whatever one I wanted, no matter what the price was. I started crying and he gave me a speech about how I do so much for everyone all year long and that I deserved to have a place that I could go to relax.
I think he is a wonderful man and one of the most thoughtful people I have ever met. All that time, I never thought he noticed everything I did for the family. As I relax in my jacuzzi after a long day, I will never forget that he notices, even if he doesn’t act like it sometimes.
I like to joke with him about how he is going to top this gift next year. He just smiles and winks at me like he has it already figured out.
