Last Minute Halloween Costume Help!

It’s Halloween and you don’t have a costume for your kid!  Anyone with kids knows that’s practically the end of the world.  What will you do?

Here are some ideas for last minute Halloween costumes for kids.

  1. Ghost.  All you need is an old white sheet.  Cut it to size, cut holes out for eyes, and hey presto! you’ve got a ghost.
  2. Mummy.  A quickie mummy costume also starts with an old white sheet.
  3. Princess.  It doesn’t compare to the Disney costumes you buy at the store, but most little girls have enough dress-up clothes and other items in their closets to come up with a princess outfit.  All you need is a pretty dress, fancy shoes, a crown (or something you can pretend is a crown), and some pretty jewelry.
  4. Farmer.  If your child has a pair of denim overalls in his or her closet and a button-down shirt, you can probably put together a farmer outfit pretty quickly.  Just get the jeans dirty and give the kid a shovel or a hoe to carry around!
  5. Slasher.  Hey, if you’ve got a Scream or Jason mask, just put that on your child with a black hooded sweatshirt and you’re done.  You can also use a regular hockey mask or make a mask yourselves!

As you can see, there are plenty of last-minute Halloween costumes you can come up with, just with the things already in your child’s closet.
