Twelve Hours Until the Dentist

I know that most of my friends hate going to the dentist, and truth be told, I used to be one of them. I guess it didn’t help that I didn’t take care of my teeth when I was a child and had some bad experiences then (imagine getting most of your teeth pulled out when you were twelve because they were rotten) which really skewed my view on dentists in general.
But after sharing my concerns about dentists in general with my best friend, she suggested that I try the sedation dentist DC that she used, and I thought it wouldn’t hurt.
As it turns out, I went for an initial consultation to get a “feel” for how they approached clients like myself. I explained my concerns and fears regarding dentistry in general and the trauma I went through in my youth and they were happy to listen.
After I was done my spiel, they proceeded to let me know that they catered to people like myself that had bad dentist experiences in the past and tried to make their patients feel as comfortable as possible. I thought that I would give it a shot with them, and truth be told my first visit was very pleasant.
That was three years ago.
In fact, I have an appointment just twelve hours from now and I don’t feel stressed at all – I would almost say that I like going to the dentist now.
