balding men's hairstyles

Are balding mens hairstyles your only options?

If you are finding yourself starting to bald, you will probably want to know what options you have, particularly as it gets worse.

While your balding isn’t all that bad, you might be able to choose between balding men’s hairstyles to find one that will minimize the appearance of baldness.  Probably the most famous example of making balding look good is Patrick Stewart, who played Captain Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation for many years.  By keeping his head closely shaved where he still had hair, he actually pulled off his bald head in style.

However, if you don’t like the shaved head look, there’s only so much you can do as your baldness progresses.  In that case you might consider hair replacement for men.  This is an actual hair transplant that uses your own hair from where you still have healthy growth, such as on the sides and back of your head, and redistributes the hair folicles to cover your bald spots.  Because it is your real hair, the result is a much natural look than a toupee.

The main thing to remember is that if you are balding, don’t do anything to make it look worse.  This means that comb-overs, mullets, and similar hairstyles that actually draw attention to your baldness are off-limits — if you want to retain any coolness factor at all, that is.  If you don’t mind co-workers avoiding you and teenage girls crossing the street when you approach, then by all means, consider a comb-over or a mullet!
