Tips for DIY Wedding Invitations

More and more brides-to-be are interested in skipping the standard contemporary wedding invitations and going with DIY wedding invitations instead. These types of wedding invitations are more personalized and reflect the bride’s true wedding style. However, they can be time-consuming and difficult to make.
Here are some tips for easing the process of making DIY wedding invitations:
- Choose your design before you get started. Most people want to use the same design for all of their invitations so settle on it before starting in on the work.
- Stick with simple. The idea of fancy origami announcements is appealing but actually taking the time to do them may not be worth the end result.
- Get help with making them. Once you have a simple design in mind then you can enlist the help of friends and family to actually make them. Hold a big party that will make the event fun even though you’re getting the work done.
- Don’t be afraid to use technology. You can make great DIY wedding invitations using online computer programs and printers or using the advanced tools used in professional scrapbooking.
It’s great to make your own wedding invitations but you don’t want to make such big plans about it that this part of your wedding preparation takes longer than it should.
