Grandpa’s Last Days

My grandfather was such an illustrious person. He served the military for years and started his own business later. Through hard work and determination, he was able to make his business grow.
But it is not just his business that he managed to grow well. All his five children were raised to be good, God-fearing citizens too.
Grandpa did not suffer from any disease or illness before he died. He was simply too old. Having reached 101 years was something we can be proud about.
Even a few days before his death, he could still get up from his king bed to go to the toilet. But of course he was assisted by his nurse.
Grandpa was proud of his children. On the wall just above his bed’s headboard were pictures of all his children. Below his children’s pictures are individual pictures of all this 18 grandchildren. It was the family tree that started from him and my grandmother.
A few minutes before he died, he asked all of us present to gather around him. He was able to say some words. And while mom was trying to fix his bedding, grandpa held out his arms and gripped mom’s arms. My mom said he could feel the energy slow dissipate and then grandpa died a very peaceful death.
