Thinking About Renting Our Home for Vacationers

Florida villaHas anyone ever done this out there?  I’ve heard about home-swapping so each party gets a free place to stay in a vacation locale, but I’m not sure I quite trust that.  But we happen to have a Florida villa, and we heard that you can rent it out by the week and make some big bucks on vacationers who are there during the weeks we’re not using it.  Doesn’t that sound neat?  I guess there’s a website you can use to list your house with a description and pictures, you pay a very small brokerage fee, private info is never exchanged and voila!  You get some cash.  I understand that people do this with their Florida villas all the time.

And our villa is pretty nice-a nice vacation home.  We have marble bathrooms, tile throughout, a pool…we even installed bidets!  I’m even going to look and see if there’s a market for this in other places, like for our home in Larkspur, Colorado.  People might like living in the pines halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs.  That would be for the weeks we stay in Florida!  I could quit my day job!  What a neat idea-and so much better than timeshares!
