How My Boss Got Addicted

I work for a small clothing boutique. My boss handles the inventory, and is the one to lift and put away those boxes that seem to come in every day, full of new stuff. About 6 months ago, he tweaked his back pretty bad, but he kept working because it was tourist season in Florida and clothing was flying off the racks. He just took some pain pills to ease the pain, but apparently, kept using them even after the pain was long gone. He’s a great guy; family man, goes to church, and honest as the day is long. He was embarrassed when he finally realized he was addicted, and sought out the help of Florida drug treatment centers until he found one that worked for him. Of course, he had to take time off of work to go into Florida drug rehab, and I’m sure telling us he was leaving was painful, but he was strong and he did it. Apparently the Florida drug rehab center he went to was top-notch because he’s back to work and he looks happier and healthier than ever. He was also very honest about what happened to him and how he finally recognized that he needed help.
